Roger Waters attacks world leaders while proclaiming support for Palestine Action “with all my heart”

Roger Waters has taken aim at world leaders, including Donald Trump and Keir Starmer, while also emphatically stating his support for “Palestine Action with all my heart” in a new video.

The Pink Floyd frontman posted an online rant to his YouTube channel over the weekend – titled ‘Roger Waters – The Voice of Reason’ – in which he touched upon many current geopolitical issues, from the war in Ukraine to Donald Trump to Gaza.

However, it is on the latter subject that Waters expressed the strongest feeling, expressing his steadfast dedication to the cause of Palestine Action, which has now been proscribed as a terrorist organisation by the British government.  He said, “It’s my opinion that Palestine Action, which is a direct action protest movement in England that has been acting to remove Elbit Systems from the UK. Good idea.”

Waters then spoke of how supporting Palestine Action could lead to his arrest in the United Kingdom. Notably, a new Banksy mural appeared outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London, which depicted a judge attacking a protester with a gavel, who is lying on the ground and holding on to a blood-stained placard. This was seemingly a reference to the recent arrests of 890 protestors at a London demonstration in support of Palestine Action earlier this month.

The former Pink Floyd musician continued: “It’s my opinion that Palestine Action is a great organisation, and I support Palestine Action with all my heart. Expressing that opinion in England makes me liable, under what is laughingly called the law of the land, makes me liable to up to 14 years in prison.”

In the video, Waters then went on to heavily criticise world leaders for what is, in his opinion, a lack of action when it comes to putting an end the suffering of Palestinian civilians. He said leaders choose to ignore this as they are made “uncomfortable” by being “reminded of our own unspeakable colonial history”.

Specifically condemning US President Trump, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the musician added: “Of course, our leaders look away. They fear the blinding light of truth. The truth is that our Western governments, when they collude in Israel’s deranged blood bath in Gaza, are not just defending this genocide, they’re defending our own indefensible colonial pasts.”

Waters has previously been vocal about his support for Palestine, posting another video to his social media at the start of July in which he made a protest sign when the ruling was made that Westminster was to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist group.

At the time, he declared: “I am Spartacus,” before explaining, “This is Independence Day, July 5th, 2025. I declare my independence from the government of the UK, who’ve just designated Palestine Action a proscribed terrorist organisation.”
