Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2025: Chappell Roan confirmed to induct Cyndi Lauper

Ahead of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, Chappell Roan has been confirmed to induct Cyndi Lauper.

In the ‘Performance Category’, Lauper is set to be inducted alongside OutKast, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, and Joe Cocker.

Meanwhile, Salt N Pepa, Warren Zevon, Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, Carol Kaye, and Lenny Waronker are also set to be inducted.

The ceremony is set to take place on November 8th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Now, just more than a week before the big ceremony, Roan has been confirmed to induct Lauper.

In a statement, Roan shared, “I actually auditioned with ‘True Colors’ for America’s Got Talent when I was 13. I didn’t make it, but the song is still incredible. I’m so excited, thank you for having me.”

Lauper has also spoken openly previously about her respect for Roan as an artist. In the 2024 documentary, Let The Canary Sing, she said about appearing ‘Pink Pony Club’ for the first time, describing the song: “Such dusky, yearning keyboard pop.”

The ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’ singer was particularly struck by Roan’s young age, adding, “Wow, born in 1998, she’s even younger than my son! And that hair! That kind of reminds me of what I did on the blues record, Memphis Blues…. Just incredible.”

Earlier this month, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced a series of performers and presenters for the ceremony, confirming Olivia Rodrigo, Elton John, Doja Cat, Questlove, Twenty One Pilots, Raye, Beck, and Missy Elliott would be involved.

The list also included Brandi Carlile, David Letterman, Flea, Iggy Pop, JID, Killer Mike, Maxwell, Sleepy Brown, Taylor Momsen, Mick Fleetwood, Nancy Wilson, Jerry Cantrell, Joe Perry, Nathaniel Rateliff and Teddy Swims.

Notably, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame didn’t share whether those aforementioned names involved in the ceremony will act as performers or presenters at the ceremony.
