Riley Keough reveals ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ band were set to tour
Actor Riley Keough has revealed that the band from Daisy Jones & The Six were set to perform live shows before the writers strike prevented them from hitting the road.
The hit show arrived on Amazon Prime in 2023, it stars Keough and Sam Claflin as the lead singers of a fictional 1970s rock band. The programme is based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Other cast members include Camila Morrone, Will Harrison, Suki Waterhouse, Josh Whitehouse, Sebastian Chacon, Nabiyah Be and Tom Wright.
Taking to her official Instagram account, Keough shared a clip of herself and Claflin, known for playing Billy Dune in the show, preparing to play a live version of the song ‘Look At Us Now (Honeycomb)’.
“In honor of the Emmys, here’s a video of the last time Sammy, the band and I rehearsed together,” Keough wrote in the caption. “We were rehearsing to perform live for our lovely Daisy fans and it sadly never happened because of the strike.”
The actor added, “I have so much love for everyone in this band and on this show. Everyone on this show worked harder than I’ve ever witnessed on any project actually for years. You’re all winners to me. I feel so blessed to have spent time with all of you, and when I lose tonight, I lose for you.”
Claflin commented on the post, “So much love for this, for you, for everyone involved.”
Last year, Stevie Nicks praised the series, which shares similarities with the story of Fleetwood Mac, posting on social media: “Just finished watching Daisy Jones + the 6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn’t really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story.”
Nicks added: “It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story. It was very emotional for me. I just wish Christine could have seen it. She would have loved it. Hopefully it will continue…”
