Radiohead member Jonny Greenwood writes Christmas letter to fans

Radiohead member Jonny Greenwood has sent out a message to the band’s fans during the festive period, providing an update on their upcoming plans.

In what has followed the recent pattern of Radiohead members reaching out to their fans as part of their new online project called the ‘Radiohead Public Library’, Greenwood sent out a Christmas message to their fans: “I hope you are all safe and well and not too scared, or too bored,” he said.

While the message was a brief exciting moment, Greenwood did go on to say that the band were not planning to record or release any new music during the current coronavirus pandemic.

“Usually this letter is a happy gambol through a year of touring,” Greenwood wrote in a letter which has been added to Reddit. “Or recording. Or something musical. But there’s nothing to talk about this year, except absences. It’s been a year of music (and friendships) exclusively down wires – and I hope we don’t get too used to that.

Greenwood continued: “Right now, I just feel this: I hope you are all safe and well and not too scared, or too bored.

“I also hope that somehow we can be part of making music for you soon, and that the pleasure of making music, and hearing music, whether in a gig, concert hall, church, or at home with friends – is not forgotten in this desolate year.”
