Radiohead appear to be making comeback after forming LLP

Radiohead could potentially be preparing to make a comeback in 2025 after forming the new LLP, RHEUK2025, on March 10th.

The company lists Johnny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, Philip Selway and Thom Yorke as designated members. While, at this stage, there is no reason attached to the formation of the new company, and it could potentially be due to the release of a new compilation rather than related to a planned tour or the follow-up to 2016’s A Moon Shaped Pool.

As Pitchfork noted, Yorke and Johnny Greenwood’s band The Smile previously formed Self Help Tapes LLP shortly before announcing their debut album in 2022. Radiohead also founded Dawn Chorus LLP before embarking upon A Moon Shaped Pool in 2016, Xurbia Xendless Ltd before In Rainbows, Ticker Tape LTD before The King of Limbs and Spin With A Grin before Kid A Mnesia.

From this pattern of behaviour, Radiohead typically only file to start a new business if there is a new release around the corner.

The group last toured in 2018, and since then, Yorke and Johnny Greenwood have been occupied with The Smile with O’Brien and Selway embarked upon solo careers. Meanwhile, Colin Greenwood has been performing with Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds over the last 12 months.

Last year, Colin Greenwood appeared at the Hay Festival Querétaro and provided an update on the status of Radiohead, “We did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just to play the old songs. And it was really fun, had a really good time.”

However, Yorke played down the chances of a Radiohead return in October. Talking to Double J, he responded to fan rumours about new music by saying, “I am not aware of it and don’t really give a flying fuck.”

The singer continued, “No offence to anyone and thanks for caring. But I think we’ve earned the right to do what makes sense to us without having to explain ourselves or be answerable to anyone else’s historical idea of what we should be doing.”
