Colin Greenwood confirms Radiohead rehearsals

In a recent interview, Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood confirmed that the band has been rehearsing together. Greenwood has yet to confirm the band’s intention moving forward, but this remains exciting news for Radiohead fans across the world.

“You know, we did some rehearsals about two months ago in London, just to play the old songs,” confirmed Greenwood in an interview, “And it was really fun; we had a really good time.”

Greenwood’s comments follow a small amount of buzz surrounding the possibility of a Radiohead reunion. Producer Nigel Godrich recently uploaded a simple yet clear tweet showing three emojis: a radio, a head, and a question mark. The tweet has since been deleted, but given that Godrich has worked with Radiohead in the past, it’s likely he would know if the band were planning any upcoming shows.

Fans have speculated over the band’s future ever since their 2017 tour for the album A Moon Shaped Pool. Rumours of Radiohead breaking up have persistently circulated, and these were only enhanced when members began heavily pursuing side projects, such as The Smile and their record released this year, Wall Of Eyes.

The band have continuously put these rumours to rest. Following the tour in 2017, Thom Yorke quickly dispelled any speculation surrounding the future of the band. “I would imagine we’ll keep going. I mean, I don’t know how, or when, but no, we’re not gonna stop. I fucking hope not,” he said.

This sentiment was reiterated by Greenwood, who said, “I don’t know what’s going to happen after July, so I can’t say anything beyond that. But I love the people that I work with, and I love what everyone does. So we’ll see. But I’m happy to go play anywhere else.”

While the future of the band still remains up in the air, we can guarantee that there won’t be any Radiohead songs or shows happening in the next few months, as it was recently announced that Greenwood is heading out on tour with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. Greenwood will fill in for Bad Seeds bassist Martyn Casey, who is unable to tour because of an undisclosed illness.

Given Radiohead’s influence on modern music and the persistent acclaim the band received for its live shows, it’s exciting that they may be getting back together for some gigs in the near future.

While everything remains speculation, this is a developing story.
