Radiohead break record after four nights at London’s The O2

Radiohead have broken an attendance record at The O2 in London, after playing four sold-out shows at the iconic venue.

As part of their UK and European tour, they played in the British capital on November 21st, 22nd, 24th, and 25th. The 22,2000 capacity venue welcomed them with open arms.

Each show was sold out, and on the last night, the capacity for the gig reached 22,355 people, the largest ever audience in the venue’s history. In fact, it was reported that every night broke the previous attendance record.

Senior Programming Director of The O2, Christian D’Acuna, has commented on the feat, sharing, “These past four record-breaking nights will go down in the venue’s history, with Radiohead breaking the attendance records each night.”

D’Acuna added, “We knew how special these exclusive shows would be, and we’re so grateful to the band for bringing them to The O2.”

He finished, “It’s been a true honour to host them, and each night they played different set lists spanning their incredible back catalogue. These shows will be remembered for years to come.”

The ‘Weird Fishes’ musicians have used their UK shows to raise money for both grassroots music venues and Samaritans. Every fan lucky enough to get a ticket paid a £1 levy that went to the LIVE trust, a charity representing the UK’s live music and entertainment sector.

Additionally, volunteers at the London shows also collected money for Samaritans. Radiohead drummer Philip Selway spoke of this organisation in a statement that began, “l’ve been a proud Ambassador for the wonderful Samaritans for many years, a cause close to my heart.”

He added, “To mark International Men’s Day, they revealed how male stereotypes are holding men back from being themselves and showing that they are struggling.”

Radiohead now have eight dates left on their 2025 tour, which sees them play their first live shows together in seven years. They will soon play four shows at the  Royal Arena in Copenhagen, followed by four more shows at the Uber Arena in Berlin.
