Josh Homme, the leading man of rock band Queens of the Stone Age has announced that he is to release the first ‘Desert Sessions’ collection in over 16 years. We cannot bloody wait.

The Desert Sessions was a long project that saw Homme work with some incredible artists between 1997 and 2003, with the final instalment The Desert Sessions – Volume 10: ‘I Heart Disco’ released in September ’03.

The session produced some incredible work largely down to Homme and his amazing array of guests including PJ Harvey, Mark Lanegan, Twiggy Ramirez and Nick Oliveri to Dean Ween, Jesse Hughes and Brant Bjork.

The New York Times is now reporting that Homme will release ‘Volumes 11 and 12’ in October. Recorded in Joshua Tree, California during 2018 the recordings will see Homme again sharing the stage with some incredible stars including ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons, Les Claypool, Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shars, Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa.

Consisting of 8 songs the sessions will be released via Matador Records on two separate runs. We’re getting excited for another barnstormer.
