Pulp announce North American tour
Pulp have announced that they are set to tour North America this September following the release of their upcoming album More.
Celebrating their first album release in some 24 years, More is set to be released on June 6th, and the band will then subsequently take off on a ten-date tour across North America, including one night in Canada.
Following their last tour of the continent in 2024, frontman Jarvis Cocker said: “If you thought last Fall was good, wait for this one! You deserve more — and we’ve got More. More than you could imagine……”
It comes as Pulp are also set to perform across the UK and Europe in June, July, and August, making UK stops in Glasgow, London, Birmingham, and Manchester.
To coincide with the release of their hotly anticipated and long-awaited album, the band will also perform two special concerts for BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2, respectively.
With the recent release of the album’s lead single ‘Spike Island’, Cocker told 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne that it was inspired by the infamous Stone Roses concert. He said: “It was a slight anti-climax to be honest, I think everyone felt that way. There was a lot of anticipation but it didn’t sound very good, it was very windy and the vibe wasn’t there.”
He added: “For this song, it was Jason Buckle, who wrote the music for it; he was telling me the story of being at the concert, and all he could remember was a DJ who between every song said, ‘Spike Island come alive, Spike Island come alive’. That phrase stuck with me. I’ve got a very short attention span I think.”
Tickets for Pulp’s North American tour go on sale on April 25th.
