Pulp announce new UK arena tour and hint at new music

Sheffield icons Pulp have announced details of a new arena tour and hinted at the release of new material after signing with Rough Trade last year.

The group, fronted by Jarvis Cocker, will be hitting the road in the UK and Ireland in June. The run of dates will begin at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on June 7th, before stopping by Dublin at the 3Arena on June 10th ahead of two dates at London’s O2 Arena on June 13th and 14th.

Additionally, Pulp will play the Utilita Live in Birmingham on June 19th before ending their victory lap at Manchester’s Co-op Live on June 21st. Conveniently, the tour concludes a week ahead of Glastonbury Festival, which would allow Pulp to perform at Worthy Farm.

In a statement, Cocker hinted they would also release new material ahead of the tour, writing, “You deserve more – & we have more. In fact, we have More – (but that’s a whole other story… you’ll have to wait a little more time to hear that one) In the meantime: see you this Summer!”

Significantly, Pulp have ruled out using dynamic pricing measures on the tour, stating, “PS: no Dynamic Pricing. None at all.”

In December, the band announced they officially signed to Rough Trade Records, which further indicates they are set to on release new music for the first time since reuniting. “Rough Trade have managed Pulp for over 30 years,” they wrote, “So it feels great to be finally on the label. We did it!”

In July, Pulp will return home to Sheffield for an appearance at Tramlines Festival. In addition to playing the headline slot, they have curated a line-up for that day, which includes a mix of talent, including local punk icons Femur and neo-psyche legends Spiritualized.
