Primal Scream announce 2026 UK tour to celebrate ‘XTRMNTR’ anniversary

Primal Scream have announced they are set to head on a new UK tour in 2026 in celebration of the anniversary of their pivotal album, XTRMNTR

The band made the announcement on April 13th, revealing that they would be heading to six UK cities this September to play their sixth studio album in full, following the 25th anniversary of its release last year.

The Scottish rockers will kick off with a two-night homecoming stint at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow on September 3rd and 4th, before heading to Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, and Bristol.

They will then conclude the tour with a show at Here at Outernet in London on September 15th, returning to the city where their XTRMNTR 25th anniversary gig fell into controversy last year.

During their show at the Roundhouse in December, while playing the song ‘Swastika Eyes’, Primal Scream played a video which showed world leaders such as Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump with the Nazi symbol on their eyeballs, before turning the Star of David into a Swastika

Subsequently, the venue said it was “appalled” by the incident, which led to the band’s planned show at the Trentham Estate in Stoke-on-Trent this August being cancelled.

They subsequently tried to defend their actions in a statement released after the incident took place, arguing, “The film is a piece of art,” before adding, “It is meant to provoke debate, not hate.”

However, Primal Scream have put this behind them by continuing into 2026 – albeit in a different form after bassist Simone Marie Butler announced her departure in January, with the band thanking her for her “feminine glamour”.

In terms of XTRMNTR, it seems to be a particularly special album for the rock band as it was the first to feature songwriting credits of the late Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, who joined the group in 1997 and sadly passed away at the end of last year.

Tickets for the XTRMNTR tour go on sale from April 17th at 10am local time.
