Porno for Pyros share new festive song ‘Pete’s Dad’
American alternative rock band Porno for Pyros spent over a decade on an extended hiatus before recently making their long-awaited return. The group are set to embark on their farewell tour and continue to share new songs as their story comes to an end.
As the farewell reunion tour continues, the rockers have released a new holiday song called ‘Pete’s Dad.’ Admittedly, the song isn’t an overly complicated one, but it is packed with fun, which is coupled with a sweet sentiment.
It follows the tale of them spending the holidays with Peter DiStefano’s dad. The track also talks about DiStefano’s dad surviving cancer. The holiday season is one where people are grateful for what they have, so to have a tune that acknowledges life in quite a raw and honest way is sweet.
“Best friends are people of action,” said DiStefano, “when Porno for Pyros created this song ‘Pete’s Dad,’ that’s when I knew these band of men were my best friends.”
The band are currently on a strong releasing streak, following the recent release of their single ‘Agua’, their first new song in 26 years. The new music is part of the farewell tour, which sees the band officially wrap things up after a successful career.
The tour will begin in February 2024 after the band had to push the dates back due to new music not being ready. They said, “We’ve pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished up.”
