Pixies announce new album and share lead single ‘On Graveyard Hill’

Pixies have announced their new album, Beneath the Eyrie, and shared the record’s lead single ‘On Graveyard Hill’.

According to a press release, Pixies’ eighth studio album will feature 12 songs dealing with “witches, Daniel Boone, misfits” and more. The record also marks the third full length from the band since reuniting.

Due out September 13 via Infectious/BMG, the album has again been produced by the Grammy nominated Tom Dalgety. Written over the course of 2018, the band chose to record the record in December at Dreamland Recordings near Woodstock, New York.

Apparently, the album’s title was inspired when drummer David Lovering “spotted an eagles nest – or ‘eyrie’ – right above the studio in a tree.”

To coincide with the album news, Pixies will also debut a 12-episode podcast titled, It’s a Pixies Podcast, on June 27th. Each episode chronicle the album, offering a deep dive into the songwriting, recording and production of each track on Beneath the Eyrie. The band also revealed that the podcast will be narrated and hosted by British music journalist Tony Fletcher.

For now though, Track of the Day:
