Pixies have finally released their seventh studio album, Beneath the Eyrie, which has been available on all major streaming services.
The record, released via BMG/Infectious records, has been produced by Tom Dalgety and arrives as the eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2016’s Head Carrier.
Recorded in a remote, converted church in upstate New York, Beneath the Eyrie is made up of 12 tracks which, according to a press release, depict “tales of witches, Daniel Boone, misfits, and other characters that fit utterly into the band’s inherent weirdness.”
To coincide with the album news, Pixies also debuted a 12-episode podcast titled, It’s a Pixies Podcast, on June 27th. Each chronicled the album, offering a deep dive into the songwriting, recording and production of each track on Beneath the Eyrie. The band also revealed that the podcast will be narrated and hosted by British music journalist Tony Fletcher.
