Phoebe Bridgers pictured appearing in new A24 movie ‘Primetime’ with Robert Pattinson
Boygenius had a monumental year in 2023 after the release of their hit album The Record. Since then, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker have embarked on new music projects, but Phoebe Bridgers seems to have her sights on other creative avenues, including a possible appearance in Primetime with Robert Pattinson.
The singer has expanded her craft to the world of film, recently reprising a role in Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw The TV Glow, which saw her perform ‘Claw Machine’ with Sloppy Jane. The song comes at a key moment during the film that entirely revolves around their performance, with the lyrics of the track relating to the central themes of the film.
While she previously played herself in the A24 project, Bridgers has now been spotted in costume on the set of Primetime, the debut feature film from Lance Oppenheim, who is known for the HBO series Ren Faire.
Primetime is an A24 production, also starring Robert Pattinson as a journalist who, “takes on an underworld of crime and ends up changing television forever.”
The project is allegedly inspired by To Catch a Predator, with the photos from the production showing Bridgers with fellow co-star Merritt Weaver. Bridgers has also been spotted having dinner with Pattinson, perhaps implying that her role is fairly substantial.
Bridgers has not released any solo music since Punisher in 2020, and there are currently no updates on what her next musical endeavour might be. However, it seems as though many singers are turning towards a career path in Hollywood, with the likes of Charli XCX and Frank Ocean also starring in and directing A24-led projects.
No release date has yet been set for Primetime, with the project currently still in production.
