Pamela Anderson says Liam Neeson put her “at ease” on ‘The Naked Gun’ set

Ahead of the release of their new comedy, The Naked Gun, Pamela Anderson has opened up about her working relationship with Liam Neeson.

The two leads were recently asked to interview one another in a clip for People. When Anderson asked Neeson’s first impression of her, the Taken actor responded, “Oh my god, she is so easy on the eyes. And, I was really taken with your there-ness. You were absolutely there. I knew we had a chemistry early on.”

Anderson agreed, musing, “Yeah, we definitely had chemistry right away. I was just curious as to where it was going to take us in the film. So it was really a nice start.”

The The Last Showgirl actor then opened up about what their chemistry meant for her experience of such a big role on set. “But I always feel like I have to get better at my confidence in getting into a room and thinking, ‘I can be here, I can be here,'” She added.

However, she stressed to Neeson, “But you really put me at ease.” Smiling, Neeson then remarked, “I really hope so,” before Anderson joked, “We were really off to the races.”

The movie acts as a follow-up to the much-acclaimed Police Squad! TV series from the early 1980s. Neeson stars as the character of Frank Drebin Jr, son of the original cop Frank Drebin, played by Leslie Nielson in its first iteration. Anderson stars alongside him as his crime-fighting counterpart.

The wider ensemble cast for The Naked Gun is filled out by Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Liza Koshy, and Busta Rhymes, among others. The film was first greenlit three years ago, in 2022. Despite this, it had been in the works as far back as 2013, as a legacy sequel to the previous film instalment, 1994’s Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult.

Naked Gun hits theatres on August 1st. Watch Anderson and Neeson interview each other for People below.
