Del Rey has faced criticism having joined the joined the lineup of the inaugural Meteor Festival which takes between the Jordan River and the Naftali Mountains.

The singer has already issued a statement to defend the planned performance, insisting that her decision to go ahead with the show “is not a political statement”.

However, the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel, have responded to her decision in a new statement: “We urge you to reconsider,” they wrote.

“We doubt that you would have played in apartheid South Africa; likewise, artists refuse to play in apartheid Israel. Please respect our nonviolent picket line, and cancel your Meteor performance.”
