Oasis add further shows to reunion tour due to “unprecedented demand”
By now, everyone has heard that Oasis will be reuniting for a series of live shows next year across stadiums in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Now, even more dates have been revealed, before tickets have even gone on sale for the first set.
The official announcement came on Tuesday, with Oasis posting a graphic of the date with the words “This is it, this is happening” a few days prior. Fans were instantly thrown into a frenzy; for most, it felt like this fateful day would never come.
Oasis, arguably the definitive British band of the 1990s, won’t be releasing any music as part of the reunion, they’ll simply be playing a string of live shows across the United Kingdom.
The tour kicks off in July 2025 with shows in Cardiff before a homecoming in Manchester ahead of a visit to London. August will see the band travel to Edinburgh and Dublin. The initial announcement contained 14 dates, but due to “unprecedented demand,” according to Oasis’ Twitter/X account, they have added more dates to the tour.
Thus, any fans worrying about missing out on seeing the Gallagher brothers squash their beef and perform their beloved songs can relax a little. Extra dates have been planned for London’s Wembley Stadium, Manchester’s Heaton Park, and Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium.
Since the news of their reunion was announced, it has been unavoidable to hear people talking about trying to secure tickets or see memes about the inevitable reality of what the gigs might actually be like.
Oasis have since confirmed that they will not be playing Glastonbury next year, therefore, the only chance to see the band in Europe will be during their 2025 stadium tour. While they alluded to this in their comeback statement, the band have since officially ruled themselves out of appearing at Worthy Farm, stating on August 28th, “The only way to see the band perform will be on their Oasis Live ’25 World Tour.”
While no dates have been announced outside of Europe at this stage, Oasis is set to play shows on other continents later in 2025, which will be announced in due course.
To secure tickets, fans were able to sign up for a ballot that closed yesterday, which asked hopeful ticket-buyers to fill out a quiz about the band. Those who were successful will be sent presale codes to buy tickets on August 30th at 9am. A general sale will begin on August 31st at 9am.
