Nominees for the Marcel Duchamp Prize announced

The artists nominated for the prestigious Marcel Duchamp Prize have been revealed. One of the most revered awards in the contemporary art world, this year marks its 25th anniversary as the four nominees are announced.

Established in connection to the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the prize honours the legacy of abstract artist Marcel Duchamp by championing a class of new and exciting artists. As well as offering major support to its artists, the prize is endowed with a heft sum of €90,000.

In 2025, as the Centre Pompidou is closing for renovations for a period of five years, the prize and exhibition showing the nominees’ work will be held at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris.

The winner will be announced at a ceremony on 23rd October 2025 during Paris Art Week. An exhibition of the artists’ work will be on display at the gallery from 26 September 2025 to 22 February 2026.

Four artists have been selected through a rigorous and competitive process by a panel of collectors from the ADIAF, or The Association for the International Diffusion of French Art. Bianca Bondi, Eva Nielsen, Lionel Sabatté, and Xie Lei are the four nominees. Each works across different mediums and with different focuses, from sculpture to textural compositions.

The winner of the prize will be selected by a jury of directors from art institutions, collectors, and artists. The jury will select one artist to receive the prestigious award and join the alumni of respected artists honoured by the prize in the past.
