Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds share new versions of two Oasis tracks
Noel Gallagher‘s High Flying Birds have released new versions of the classic Oasis tracks ‘The Masterplan’ and ‘Going Nowhere’.
Both tracks that Gallagher has taken on with his High Flying Birds have been stalwarts in his setlists throughout 2023. The pair of beloved songs were originally B-sides and also appeared on the Oasis offcuts album The Masterplan, which was re-released earlier this year to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The new recordings are part of a release by the High Flying Birds titled Abbey Road Sessions, as they were created at the iconic studio in London. Gallagher also recorded Council Skies at the same location, which was released in June and landed at two in the UK album chart.
The reimagined tracks arrive ahead of Gallagher’s forthcoming arena tour across the United Kingdom. The run of dates kicks off at London’s OVO Wembley Arena on December 14th, he will also visit Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds and Glasgow before the final night in Liverpool on December 21st.
Furthermore, Gallagher will be returning to the road next summer for a series of outdoor shows. He’s set to play at Alexandra Palace Park in London, The Piece Hall in Halifax, Robin Park in Wigan and Cardiff Castle.
In a four-star review of Council Skies, Far Out wrote: “Gallagher’s latest and most reflective journey was not made in vain. Council Skies is a considered and consummate follow-up to the more psychedelic and adventurous Who Built The Moon? This new record is by no means a work of innovative genius, nor was it intended to be. Gallagher has brought his fans back to the start with a well-structured, well-produced and well-sung discographic entry.”
