Noel Gallagher has released a brand new video for new single ‘Wandering Star’ and it has us all feeling a bit festive. The video even has a famous face involved with The Irishman star Stephen Graham making an appearance.
The former Oasis man shared his new song last week and it is set to appear on his upcoming High Flying Birds EP, Blue Moon Rising. With the collection of tracks set to drop on March 6th, we’re happy to have another taster to whet our appetites.
The video has a cinematic edge to it too. Featuring the always impressive Stephen Graham who, it has to be said, has been in too many great films to mention but we have a particular soft spot for his role as Combo in This Is England.
In the video, Graham plays a chain-smoking Father Christmas who helps a mother steal Christmas gifts for her children. The mother played by Hannah Walters joins Graham as they flee after distracting a security guard to get away.
Then they make their way through the streets of London, passing out presents as they go until they end up at the Mother’s house delivering gifts to her children as Santa watches on.
Director Dan Cadan explained that despite calls of the clip being somewhat anti-Christmas that in he “wanted to highlight the plight that can affect people” during the season’s festivities.
“The pressures from commercial bombardment and a consumerist society, for a single-parent who will stop at nothing to ensure their kids feel the magic that so many take for granted,” he said.
“Stevie G is my muse and this is our third collaboration, my second with his incredibly talented wife Hannah Walters and they brought more to this than we could have dreamed—which is part of the package when working with these two actors.”
