Noel Gallagher loves a feud and, after coming up short in his battle with Lewis Capaldi, the former Oasis man has decided to reignite his old war of words with Eminem.

Gallagher was speaking to The Sunday Irish Independent and took a dig at the rapper for “going into rehab and singing about it for the next 20 years” and, of course, this isn’t the first time that the 52-year-old has had a pop at Slim Shady. Back in 2005 Gallagher called the rapper an “idiot” and when asked by the Irish publication whether he still felt the same, the former Oasis man said: “He is one of those guys that goes into rehab and then they sing about it for the next 20 years. You did a bit of fucking coke. You had a drink. Haven’t we all”.

He added: “I have never felt the need to be one of those fing people. It’s boring. But writing songs about drugs is as boring as writing songs about coming out the other side of drugs.”

Gallagher, who is preparing to release his newest High Flying Birds album, also touched upon his past experience with drugs and how leaving them behind was straightforward for him, saying: “I wasn’t planning on such a major lifestyle change. But after about two weeks I was like I fing much prefer this. Much prefer it. And then… I have looked back. It doesn’t bother me. I can sit in a room full of people doing fing mountains of cocaine—it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.”

Gallagher first made comments about Eminem—and hip-hop in general—back in a 2005 interview with the British tabloid press when he said: I despise hip-hop. Loathe it. Eminem is an idiot and I find 50 Cent the most distasteful character I have ever crossed in my life.” Gallagher has also been quoted on record as labelling the rapper as being “a ponce who dyes his hair out of a bottle. He wouldn’t last two minutes in Moss Side. Coupled with that, he’s a fing yank. And he wears shit clothes.”
