Lewis Capaldi escalates Noel Gallagher feud with fantastic Glastonbury 2019 entrance
Lewis Capaldi has taken the opportunity to brilliantly escalate his flirting with Noel Gallagher with a fantastic entrance at Glastonbury Festival 2019.
The running joke has been rumbling since former Oasis man Gallagher was quoted as saying “who’s this Capaldi fella?” during an interview as both artists competed in the charts.
In response, Capaldi laughed off the interview in typical fashion: “Camaaan! Fuckin’ Caman! That’s me, I’ve peaked, slagged aff by Noel Gallagher. It’s me. What a day. What a fuckin’ day,” he said.
“Number 1 single? Who gives a fuck. Number 1 album? Who gives a fuck. I just got slagged off by Noel Gallagher. Dreams are coming true. It’s Father’s Day and I’m being slagged aff by a man who’s old enough to be my da. And I’ve never been more happy. Happy Father’s Day Noel.”
The joke has been rumbling on for a few days but now, as Capaldi prepared to play a major set at Glastonbury’s Other Stage, the Scotsman played the Gallagher clip as an intro to his arrive on stage and, brilliantly entered the stage donning a parka coat and sunglasses:
