Noel Gallagher says it would be an “absolute honour” for Oasis to record the next James Bond theme
Noel Gallagher has admitted that he’s interested in Oasis recording the new James Bond theme.
The next incarnation of Bond is currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios with Dune’s Denis Villeneuve on board to direct.
As it stands, no 007 has been announced as Daniel Craig’s replacement. Intriguingly, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is writing the next Bond film, and is also behind an authorised upcoming documentary on the Oasis reunion.
During a new interview with TalkSPORT on January 5th, Gallagher responded to recent speculation linking Oasis with the theme.
Upon being asked about the speculation by host Andy Goldstein, Gallagher initially said, “This James Bond thing? What, Oasis? Nah.”
Goldstein then asked “what would you do” if Barbara Broccoli, who gave up her creative control to the Bond franchise in 2025, had contacted him regarding an opportunity to record the theme, to which Noel jokingly replied, “I’d say, ‘Alright, Babs’.”
Then on a serious note, Gallagher added, “What for Oasis to do it? Absolutely. Of course. It would be an absolute honour, and I think those kind of things should be done by Brits not Yanks.”
However, Gallagher did confirm that no contact has been made by those connected with the Bond franchise to enquire about Oasis recording the theme for the next movie.
Gallagher then went on to jokingly express his interest in also making a cameo in the next 007 film, adding, “I’d play a villain. A Mancunian villain.”
Gallagher’s new comments suggest that there is plenty of life left in the Oasis reunion despite the band having no concerts scheduled on the calendar for the future.
After the tour came to an end, Oasis issued the following celebratory statement, which suggested their story is not yet over, “From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City of Angels, the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten. There will now be a pause for a period of reflection.”
