Noah Kahan makes fans pledge not to poo on the floor following incident at Philadelphia concert
Chart-topping singer-songwriter Noah Kahan has pleaded with fans to use the toilet following an incident at his show in Philadelphia over the weekend.
On June 26th, the ‘Stick Season’ singer performed at the Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, and footage later emerged on social media of poo that had been smeared on the floor at the venue, much to the frustration of other concertgoers.
Subsequently, Kahan initially took to X to write, “If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”
Holding his own hands up, Kahan added, “I shit myself onstage in Charlottesville but that’s because I am dedicated to my craft.”
Then, on June 28th, when his tour rolled by the Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Kahan took a short break from the concert to implore fans to use the toilet facilities to avoid a repeat of the Philadelphia incident.
Kahan told the Canadian crowd, “This is awkward, and this is fresh, in more ways than one, you’ll find out in a second. When you enter this building, you enter a social contract, and one of the big rule or two besides don’t literally fucking kill each other is don’t shit on the floor.”
He then led the crowd through repeating the following words, “I solemnly swear, I will not shit my pants, and if I do, I won’t take it from my pants and put it on the floor.”
Unexpectedly, a phone on-stage then rang as part of a skit, Kahan then jokingly said while on the ‘call’, “Hello? The National Centre for IBS, Colitis and Diarrhoea? It’s actually one in four adults suffer from IBS, I’m so sorry. Shit all you want, we got music for you.”
This is not the first time that a major star has made comments regarding fan toilet etiquette in recent weeks, as Olivia Rodrigo recently spoke out on the same topic.
During an interview with UK radio station Kiss FM, she harrowingly shared, “I have been to certain concerts and certain festivals where people wear diapers so that they can be front row of the show and that’s been an experience as a performer that I have smelled.”
Rodrigo added, “Everyone is wearing diapers… they sit there all day. I think about it kind of often… it’s a real thing.”
If only the fan responsible for the excrement in Philadelphia had come prepared with an adult diaper…
