Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant star in new HBO series 'The Undoing'

HBO’s latest series, The Undoing, starring Hollywood A-listers Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant has arrived, gripping viewers who have been binge watching the suspense-filled thriller.

The Undoing focuses around wealthy New York couple, Grace and Jonathan Fraser, who are played by Kidman and Grant respectively. They live a blissful, almost perfect life, with their son Henry who attends one of the top private school’s in the city. However, their world is rocked overnight when news of a hideous death strikes in their local community and Jonathan suddenly vanishes—an incident which leaves Kidman’s character questioning why her husband would disappear during a time in which the media relentlessly harasses her.

The brand new series is inspired by the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz and, although it has been adapted for TV, it features some differences to the book. The incredible cast of The Undoing also features Emmy nominee Edgar Ramirez, Ismael Cruz Cordova, as well as American Horror Story‘s Lily Rabe and Noah Jupe who plays the key role of Nicole and Hugh’s son Henry.

“The scripts were unputdownable,” Grant said to the Radio Times. “Which is incredibly rare. Generally speaking, I nap soundly while reading scripts – but these were riveting. They also came with a very classy package of talent: Nicole Kidman, Susanne Bier [The Night Manager director] and David E Kelley [creator of Big Little Lies]. I realised I was going to have to go to work, which is something I always dread.”

“I was given the first two scripts by David E Kelley [the creator of Big Little Lies, in which Kidman starred] and was instantly hooked,” Kidman said in the same interview. “I love the fact that The Undoing is a classic thriller with lots of cliffhangers. It keeps you guessing until the very end,” she added.

The Undoing will air on HBO and HBO MAX in the US with episodes of The Undoing will air weekly at 9 pm every Sunday. In the UK, it will air on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK. with the series premiering on Monday, November 26th at 9 pm on Sky Atlantic.
