Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban separate after nearly 20 years
Hollywood actor Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban have reportedly separated after almost 20 years of marriage.
This was first speculated by TMZ, which reported that the couple had been living apart from each other since June, but has now been confirmed by various sources, including The New York Post.
Kidman and Urban, who both hail from Australia but now live in the United States, have been married for almost two decades, having originally tied the knot back in June 2006. However, sources reporting the news of their separation say that the musician has moved out of their family home in Nashville.
Per an unnamed source in People magazine, the split is not wanted by Kidman, as they said: “She didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
The reason behind the couple’s separation has not been specified at this time, although the source in The New York Post noted, “Sometimes relationships just run their course.”
The couple have two children together – Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14 – with Kidman also having two adult children from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise, which lasted for ten years but ultimately ended in 2001.
Kidman and Urban were last seen publicly together watching a football game in Nashville in June, around the same time when the actor shared a picture of herself and Urban on her Instagram to commemorate their anniversary. In the post, she simply wrote: “Happy Anniversary Baby”, alongside an emoji of a red heart.
Previously, they were also seen when Urban was honoured at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May, where he was honoured with the ‘ACM Triple Crown’ prize.
Neither Kidman nor Urban have yet spoken publicly about the reports or to confirm their split officially.
