The Thurston Moore Group will release their new album later this year, Spirit Counsel.
The band has also confirmed that Jon Leidecker, the San Francisco-based experimental electronic musician, will join the group and has worked on the band’s first LP since 2017’s Rock N Roll Consciousness.
“We all fell for Jon during an unforgettable moment on the platform of the train station in rural Denmark as we stood beside him with other passengers and witnessed in awe as he and his hand-held electronics conducted an extensive conversation with the local crows,” the band said in a press release.
“Suddenly all these birds flew in and surrounded him on the train platform and began singing with him.”
Spirit Counsel will be released via The Daydream Library Series Record Label on September 21 as part of a 3-CD boxset accompanied with a special booklet with Moore’s photographs, lyrics and handwritten scores for recent 12-string electric and acoustic concerts.
