Netflix announce ‘Back In Action’ with Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz
Netflix have announced details a new film, Back In Action, starring Hollywood A-listers Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
Whilst details on the film are currently sparse, it is understood to be an action comedy. Seth Gordon is at the helm of directing the movie, which he co-wrote with Brendan O’Brien. Other actors understood to be making appearances are Glenn Close and Kyle Chandler.
In 2022, it was initially announced that Diaz would be coming out of retirement to star in the new comedy. Produced by Good One Productions, the film is yet to have an official release date.
Diaz took a brief break from acting in 2014 after starring in three successful comedies, The Other Woman, Sex Tape, and Annie. Her reasoning for leaving was to focus on her family life and raise her daughter instead of spending days on end in front of the camera.
In 2022, the actor told CBS Mornings of her retirement: “When you’re doing something that you know and you’ve done well, and you know how it works and it’s consumed your whole life for so long, it’s kind of a nice thing to kind of go, ‘You know what? Let me just step back for a second, take a look at what the whole picture looks like for me and what are the things that I could do better and be more engaged with that would make me feel more whole.’ And I did that.”
“I miss aspects of acting, or making movies. … Making movies is a particular skillset that is fun to exercise and be a part of,” she added.
