Netflix actor, Tony Germano, dies aged 55 after fall from roof
The 55-year-old Netflix actor, Tony Germano, passed away after falling off his roof while attempting to carry out repairs on the property.
The actor had recently moved into a new property in São Paulo. On November 27th, he was checking on building work that was being done on the roof when he tragically slipped and fell.
The Brazilian actor had been in the industry for three decades. He was a skilled voice actor, with roles in hit Netflix shows such as Go, Dog, Go!
He also appeared in Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn, and Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. He voiced other animated characters on shows such as The Muppets, Elena of Avalor, and Sheriff Callie’s Wild West.
Off the screen, Germano was a beloved stage actor. He was known for roles in Fiddler on the Roof, Miss Saigon, Jekyll and Hyde, and The Phantom of the Opera.
The actor lives alone in the property from which he experienced the fatal fall. He also has no children, but, according to the New York Post, had been with his sister the night before his death.
She reported that the star was excited at the prospect of moving into the home and starting things anew in his new house. It marked an exciting new chapter for the artist who would, unfortunately, never have the chance to experience the next part of the rest of his life.
Film director Matheus Marchett has paid tribute to the star online, writing, “I am so lucky to have found such a generous, talented and captivating soul as Tony Germano. It is one of the rarest gifts.”
He added, “Sad for those who could not act alongside him, whether on stage, on screen, or in life. Those of us who were able to have even just a little bit of Tony in our lives are very, very lucky.”
