Nelly to perform at White House for Donald Trump’s Correspondents’ Dinner

This weekend, President Donald Trump will be hosting the Correspondents’ Dinner at the White House. It has now been confirmed that Nelly will be the musical talent on hand throughout the evening.

The Grammy winner will also lend his rap songs ahead of the dinner for an evening at Executive Branch, an exclusive club in Georgetown where membership allegedly begins at the eye-watering price of $500,000.

As per Politico, the guest list will feature senior Trump administration officials, as well as leaders from the business and tech sector, and “non-fake news media.”

Nelly has played for the Trump family before. Following the president’s inauguration in January 2025, the star played at Trump’s Liberty Inaugural Ball.

He explained at the time, “I’m not doing this for money, I’m doing this because it’s an honour. I respect the office. It doesn’t matter who is in office.”

Nelly will also cosy up to Kid Rock at this year’s 2026 Rock the Country Travelling festival tour, where the likes of Blake Shelton and Jelly Roll will play various shows on the eight-city tour.

Explaining the ethos of the tour, Trump affiliate Kid Rock explained, “This is a place for hard-working, God-fearing patriots to gather as one and celebrate freedom, music, and the party of the year.”

Trump isn’t just central to Nelly’s live performances; the former businessman was referenced in the 2000 song ‘Country Grammar (Hot Shit)’, on which Nelly rapped, “Donald Trump, Let me in now, Spend now, I got money to lend my friends now.”

The forthcoming Correspondents’ Dinner at the White House was a topic of interest for Trump dissenter Jimmy Kimmel, who shared in his latest monologue that Trump has opted to replace the usual comedian slot, in which the President and their administration are “roasted”, with a mentalist and author Oz Pearlman as the headline entertainer.

Kimmel explained, “Our president is a delicate snowflake with the thinnest fat skin of any human being ever, and that means there’s going to be no comedian this year,” before delivering his own scorching nine-minute roast.
