Neil Young announces new documentary and live album

Neil Young has announced details of a new documentary, Coastal, and live album, Coastal: The Soundtrack.

The documentary, directed by Young’s wife, Daryl Hannah, chronicles the Canadian singer-songwriter’s solo tour in 2023. Hannah’s film initially premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival last year but will now be able to be seen across the United States for one night only on April 17th in cinemas.

Additionally, on April 18th, Young will release Coastal: The Soundtrack. It includes 11 stripped-back versions of classic tracks from his collection, including beloved efforts such as ‘Expecting to Fly’, ‘Comes a Time’, and ‘Vampire Blues’.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that Young and his new band, The Chrome Hearts, will headline BST Hyde Park in London on July 11th, 2025. The bill is also set to include Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Van Morrison.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Young announced full details of their Love Earth World Tour which is set to get underway in Rättvik in Sweden on June 18th.

The European leg will conclude at Hyde Park before it resumes on August 8th in Charlotte and will come to a close on September 15th at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Significantly, Young will also headline the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival while in Europe. Confirming his appearance in January after previously pulling out, he told fans, “Due to an error in the information received, I had decided to not play the Glastonbury festival, which I always have loved. Happily, the festival is now back on our itinerary and we look forward to playing! Hope to see you there!”
