Neil Young, Lana Del Rey and Beck to headline Harvest Moon benefit concert
Neil Young, Lana Del Rey and Beck have been confirmed to perform at the third Harvest Moon benefit concert.
The Harvest Moon concert is scheduled to take place on the grounds of the Painted Turtle summer camp in Lake Hughes, California, on October 25th for a daytime event set in intimate surroundings for artists of this stature.
Proceeds will go to The Painted Turtle, a non-profit organisation that provides children living with serious medical conditions a free traditional summer camp experience. The money will also be split with The Bridge School, which was co-founded by Young’s ex-wife, Pegi Young, in 1986, and the musician has supported it extensively since it began with benefit concerts.
The Bridge School proudly says it “empowers children with extensive speech and physical disabilities to learn, connect, and thrive”.
April Tani, executive director of The Painted Turtle, said in a statement: “We’re honored to welcome Neil Young, Lana Del Rey, and Beck to Harvest Moon this year. This gathering, where music, nature, and purpose come together, is a powerful celebration of hope and community.”
Tani continued, “It’s an opportunity for all of us to support two extraordinary organizations making a real difference in children’s lives.”
The first Harvest Moon concert was held in 2018, with Young joined by Norah Jones and Father John Misty at The Painted Turtle. Then, six years later, Masanga, Lily Meola, and John Mayer performed before Young delivered a triumphant headline set with Stephen Stills.
It’s been a busy summer for Young, who has been glued to the road with his new band, the Chrome Hearts. First, they completed a European tour which included headline sets at Glastonbury Festival and BST Hyde Park in London.
They also recently wrapped up the North American leg of their tour with a headline performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, before appearing at Farm Aid on September 20th.
