Neil Young lashes out at Donald Trump on new diss track, ‘Big Crime’

Neil Young has shared the passionate new diss track, ‘Big Crime’, aimed at Donald Trump.

Young gave ‘Big Crime’ its live debut when he performed at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island with the Chrome Hearts on August 27th.

Additionally, Young has shared the lyrics to ‘Big Crime’ on his website, the Neil Young Archives, in a post titled, ‘BIG CRIME AT CHICAGO SOUNDCHECK’. He’s also posted audio of the band performing the song during soundcheck.

On the track, Young sings, “Don’t need no fascist rules, Don’t want no fascist school, Don’t want soldiers on our streets, There’s big crime in DC at the White House.”

The Canadian singer-songwriter then adds, “No more money to the fascists, The billionaire fascists, Time to blackout the system.”

On the final verse, Young delivers another vicious blow to Trump, “NO MORE GREAT AGAIN, No NO MORE GREAT AGAIN, There’s big crime in DC at THE White House, There’s big crime in DC at THE White House, NO MORE GREAT AGAIN, No NO MORE GREAT AGAIN.”

Young has been a vocal critic of Trump ever since he entered politics. In April, the former Buffalo Springfield musician admitted he was worried that Trump would prevent him from returning to America once he leaves for his European tour this summer despite having US citizenship.

He wrote in a post on his website: “If the fact that I think Donald Trump is the worst president in the history of our great country could stop me from coming back, what does that say for Freedom? I love America and its people and its music and its culture.”

Young also claimed, “It seems that those who speak out freely with their own opinions are now vulnerable to a non-existent Trump law.”

Additionally, when Trump came out swinging for Bruce Springsteen after ‘The Boss’ delivered a passionate speech against the Washington regime at a Manchester concert, Young defended his peer on his website, writing, “STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT ROCKERS ARE SAYING. Think about saving America from the mess you made.”

While Trump has launched attacks against musicians ranging from Springsteen to Taylor Swift, Young has escaped his wrath. In 2008, the then-host of The Apprentice spoke positively about Young, telling Rolling Stone that he was a “terrific guy” who had “something very special”. He also recalled watching him at BobFest in 1992, and said that he “totally brought the house down.”
