NBC cancels Jimmy Fallon’s ‘On Brand’ after just one series
NBC has cancelled On Brand with Jimmy Fallon after one series.
The late-night host spread his wings with the business-minded reality television show in 2025, which saw him team up with Bozoma Saint John for the venture.
Upon announcing the show, which is hosted, executive-produced and created by Fallon, last year, NBC described it as the comic starting a marketing agency that he proceeded to fill “with the most creative, clever, and competitive go-getters he can find.”
Over the course of the eight episodes, these marketing minds were then tasked with helping major brands, including Captain Morgan, Dunkin’, and Samsung.
During an appearance on Today to promote the series, Fallon said On Brand is like “Shark Tank meets The Apprentice meets Project Runway. It’s a gamefied business reality competition, so you have a brand come in, and ten contestants from all walks of life pitch ideas for their marketing campaign.”
However, seemingly, On Brand was not a hit with viewers in the same way as those aforementioned, long-running shows, as it will not be getting a second season.
Although more than two million viewers tuned in for the season premiere, only 1.5 million tuned in for the finale, as its audience dwindled throughout the run.
Nevertheless, despite NBC cancelling On Brand, they have picked up another show from Fallon, which softens the blow. His company, Electric Hot Dog, will co-produce a new quiz show based on Wordle and will be hosted by Savannah Guthrie.
The series will film in Manchester and be shown in both the UK and the US.
Meanwhile, last week on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon was a Rolling Stones bonanza following news of their new album, Foreign Tongues.
In addition to welcoming Ronnie Wood on the sofa, Mick Jagger made an appearance in a surreal Real People Fake Arms sketch, which saw him play a jewellery shop owner while wearing mannequin arms.
