Mötley Crüe open their virtual museum, The Crüeseum
Hard rock band Mötley Crüe have opened the doors to their virtual museum, The Crüeseum. The new online experience allows fans to look through the band’s archives and see previously private items.
In an announcement, the band said: “This living, breathing, virtual museum, developed in partnership with Definitive Authentic / Inveniem, features memorabilia ranging from stage clothes, photographs, instruments, to mementoes and many other gems – many of which have never been seen by the public.”
Three different collections are available in the virtual museum, including ‘Shout at the Devil, ‘ a celebration of the band’s 1983 album. There is also ‘On with the Show’, which goes into detail about life on the road and touring with the band, and finally, ‘Home Sweet Home – Los Angeles’, which the band have described as a “dirty love letter” to their home town.
Fans can head over to the Crüeseum now to look at the available collections. It’s also expected that more features from their archive will be added over time. Additionally, Mötley Crüe plan to revive their fan club, S.I.N. Club.
In other Mötley Crüe news, former guitarist Mick Mars has had a judge rule in his favour regarding legal fees. As the case continues, the judge ruled that the band will be responsible for Mars’s legal fees. The entire hearing will now proceed privately.
After being forced to retire due to ongoing spinal arthritis, Mars alleged his profits were slashed by 20 per cent to five per cent. As the case evolved, it became deeply personal, with Mars accusing Nikki Sixx of “gaslighting him” and Sixx responding by saying: “We don’t deserve this considering how many years we’ve been propping him up.”
Mars’ attorney, Ed McPherson, said: “Finally, somebody, somewhere, told these guys they can’t bully Mick anymore.”
