Morrissey cut from new A$AP Rocky album

Morrissey appears to have been cut from the new A$AP Rocky, despite the pair teasing a collaboration on multiple occasions.

Back in 2018, the rapper said he wanted to “fuck with” Morrissey. “I might have to fuck with Morrissey on some Smiths shit,” he said, adding, “Make some emo, real, retro-infusion, motherfuckin’ 2018 shit, man.”

In 2021, he announced that Morrissey had been writing, producing, and contributing vocals to his new record, titled ‘All Smiles’, and later renamed to ‘Don’t Be Dumb’.

The teased collaboration continued into 2024, when Rockey announced that Morrissey features on a track, titled ‘Hood Happy’. It was never released online.

Now, Rockey’s first album in almost eight years has been shared on January 16th, and saw no signs of the ‘This Charming Man’ singer.

Morrissey has also been mocked on the new Robbie Williams album, in a song boldly titled ‘Morrissey’. On the track, Williams sings, “I’m isolated, deserted and friendless/ But the beat goes on, and it feels tremendous.”

On January 15th, Morrissey cancelled his performance in St Louis, Missouri. This is a repeated incident; the former frontman of The Smiths began 2026 by cancelling his first two shows of the calendar year in California. He was due to play Rancho Mirage and San Diego earlier this month.

His new album Make-Up Is A Lie is set to arrive on March 6th, 2026. Upon announcing the record, along with sharing the title track, he told fans,  “I hope you consider ‘Make-up is a Lie’ to be worth the attention that you give it.”

He continued, “Many of us, here, and in France, Turkey, Poland, The Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, America, England … we have waited because our belief is unchallengeable: let the squawkers squawk.”

The Mancunian is set to return to Europe for a headline tour next month, which includes a lone UK date at London’s O2 Arena on February 28th.
