Morgan Wallen won’t submit himself for Grammy consideration

Morgan Wallen is not planning to submit himself or his latest chart-topping album, I’m The Problem, for Grammy consideration.

Despite being released in May, I’m The Problem is still number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States and shifted almost 500,000-equivalent units in its first week of sales alone.

On August 19th, Hits Daily Double first reported the news that Wallen wasn’t planning on submitting the best-selling album of 2025 in the United States to the prestigious music awards ceremony.

Hours later, Billboard reported that his Grammys snub goes a step further, and Wallen will not be put forward in any category, nor will any of the songs that he co-wrote.

However, Wallen’s team, according to the Billboard report, will not prevent any songwriters who contributed to I’m The Problem from submitting their work on the 37-track record for Grammy consideration.

At the 2025 ceremony, Wallen was nominated at the Grammys in the ‘Best Country Song’ and ‘Best Country Duo/Group Performance’ categories for his Post Malone collaboration, ‘I Had Some Help’.

Wallen joins a growing list of names who have shunned the Grammys in recent years, including Zach Bryan, who chose against submitting his 2024 album, The Great American Bar Scene, for this year’s ceremony. A source close to Bryan reportedly told Variety it was “based on feeling that he does not feel comfortable with awards shows making music competitive”.

Bryan previously won a Grammy for his Kacey Musgraves collaboration ‘I Remember Everything’ in 2024, and has notched up a total of four nominations during his career so far.

The Weeknd boycotted the ceremony in 2021 and accused the Grammys of being “corrupt” after not receiving any nomination for his hit album, After Hours. He then made a surprise performance at this year’s event, seemingly putting his feud with the Recording Academy to bed.
