Millie Bobby Brown opens up about relationship with David Harbour: “Of course, I felt safe”

Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown has opened up about her working relationship with co-star David Harbour.

The pair fell under new scrutiny recently after reports of harassment and behind-the-scenes tension. Earlier this month, it came to light that Harbour had reportedly been the subject of an internal inquiry after Brown filed a formal complaint against him.

The source said, “Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim before they started shooting the last season. There were pages and pages of accusations. The investigation went on for months.”

Nonetheless, it was later reported that things had been resolved between the actors, who play father and daughter on the show. They put on a united front at Stranger Things press nights from thereon.

With the release of the first volume of episodes, Brown has now opened up about her behind-the-scenes relationship with her costar.

Speaking to Deadline, Brown shared, “David and I have a great relationship. We work really closely together in the scenes and in preparing for the scenes.”

She added, “I really am excited for everyone to see the labour of love and hard work we’ve put into the closure of our relationship and what that looks like and to give some of the fans.”

“Especially the Hopper and Eleven fans,” She continued. “Those scenes that I feel, I think, are going to be quite impactful. I love it. It makes me want to bring my A game every single time I see that I’m on the call sheet working with him because I know he’s bringing it right back.”

In the new season, Eleven experiences much emotional duress and must lean on her father-figure for support. The star reaffirmed that she felt safe excavating her emotions alongside Harbour: “Of course, I felt safe.”

She continued, “We’ve worked together for 10 years. I feel safe with everyone on that set. Naturally [we]’ve been doing it for so long.”

The Enola Holmes star added, “We also play father and daughter, so naturally you have a closer bond than the rest because we have had some really intense scenes together, especially in Season 2.”

The first volume of Stranger Things is now available on Netflix. Watch the trailer for the new season below.
