Oscars 2025: Mikey Madison shares her post-ceremony plans

At last night’s Oscars ceremony, Mikey Madison took home the ‘Best Actress’ award for her stunning performance in Sean Baker’s Anora. Now, she has opened up about her plans for the future.

The star, who made her acting debut in the television series Better Things in 2016, impressed critics with her performance as a sex worker in Anora, which has also won her various other awards, including a Bafta.

Speaking to the press room after her win, Madison revealed, “I’ve been thinking about the future a lot — and also the past. And I’ve been really trying to remind myself to stay as present as possible throughout all of this, so I don’t know. I really don’t know what will happen in the future.”

She added, “I just want to keep making movies and continue to work with people who inspire me and play interesting characters, tell stories that are compelling.”

Madison has appeared in various popular movies since she began her career, including Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Scream (2022). However, Anora is her biggest role to date, and one that has now given her some of the most prestigious awards in Hollywood.

Revealing her more immediate plans for the rest of Oscars night, Madison said, “I just know that tonight I’m going to go home to my new puppies and probably clean up their mess, and it’s gonna bring me right down to earth.”

Anora won big at the ceremony, with Baker taking home ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Picture’, ‘Best Film Editing’, and ‘Best Original Screenplay’. The indie filmmaker is also known for movies like Tangerine and The Florida Project.
