Metallica issue statement on “frustrating” Sphere ticket-buying process and hint at additional future shows

Metallica have shared a statement acknowledging fans’ frustration about the ticketing process for their upcoming residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas and hinted that there may be more shows to come.

At the end of February, the legends confirmed their Life Burns Faster residency at the high-tech Sin City venue with double-weekend spreads, performing on most Thursdays and Sundays in October.

Due to demand, the rock legends then extended the run of shows in 2027, adding up to a total of 24.

In a statement newly shared on X, Metallica shared their appreciation for the huge fan interest in the performances. “We are so appreciative and grateful to all of you for the incredible response,” they wrote.

Metallica added, “We are completely and utterly blown away and cannot believe that we will have 24 amazing nights on stage there, all thanks to you and a record-breaking week.”

Though they admitted that “at this point in time, we will not be adding additional shows,” the ‘Enter Sandman’ group hinted that “we are hoping to offer more in the future”.

With that exciting piece of news over, they acknowledged that fans had much criticism about the process of buying tickets for the residency.

They wrote, “In the meantime, we hear you loud and clear that the ticket-buying process was often frustrating and not always smooth. We’re working with our partners to improve this experience and offer some remedies for the next time around.”

It is not currently clear what these “remedies” might entail, but it seems likely that the band will extend the tour once more.

So far, all the confirmed dates include October 1st, followed by more dates on the 15th and 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th, and 31st.

They will round out 2026 with performances on November 5th and 7th, after which they will next play on January 28th and 30th. They will play throughout February, namely on the 4th, 6th, 18th, 20th, 25th, and 27th. The last handful of dates will take place in March on the 4th, 6th, 11th, and 13th.

First, the band must undertake their huge UK and European stadium tour, which is set to begin on May 9th at the Olympic Stadium in Athens.

Rounding out the new statement, Metallica looked towards the exciting future: “Before we know it, we’ll be exploring new frontiers along with fans from around the world in Las Vegas, and we can’t wait!”
