Gil Sharone, the drummer in Marilyn Manson’s band, is moving on to pursue different projects.
Sharone, who has been the drummer of the band for the past five years, leaves Manson with the task of finding a new band member before his tour with Rob Zombie which kicks off in July.
Sharone, taking to social media said: “After five amazing years playing drums for @marilynmanson, I’ve decided to leave the band. It’s been one of the highlights of my career but it’s time for me to pursue other current and future projects.
“Much love to @marilynmanson and the homies I shared the stage with; @jeordie @tylerbatesofficial @paulwileymm @j_alderete and to the fans. It’s been a blast.”
Sharone, highly regarded as one of the most versatile touring/session drummers in the world, also plays with his twin brother in the band Stolen Babies.
While he has not confirmed his next step, Sharone has enjoyed much success in contributing to film scores and can be heard on the scores for John Wick, John Wick 2 and the TV shows Salem and Kingdom so that could be an avenue.
