Margot Robbie and Tim Burton linked with ‘Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman’ remake
Margot Robbie is reportedly in early talks to join Tim Burton’s planned remake of Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman for Warner Bros.
If negotiations move forward, Robbie would not only star in the film but also produce it through her company LuckyChap, alongside her partners Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara. The project is still in the early stages, but all eyes are on this potential collaboration.
Burton’s reimagining of the 1958 sci-fi cult classic was first reported back in February. The original film tells the story of a wealthy heiress who transforms into a giant after an alien encounter and sets out to take revenge on her unfaithful husband.
Known for his dark and whimsical storytelling, Burton is attached to direct and produce, teaming up with producers Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper. Kai Dolbashian will serve as executive producer.
If the deal closes, the film would mark a major reunion between Warner Bros and two of its biggest creative forces: Robbie and Burton. The studio has enjoyed significant success with both.
Margot Robbie’s Barbie, produced by LuckyChap, became the highest-grossing film of 2023 and the biggest box office success in the studio’s 100-year history, raking in $1.45billion globally, while Tim Burton has been a consistently high-performing director.
Robbie, a three-time Oscar nominee, will next appear in the studio’s Wuthering Heights. Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of the classic novel, scheduled for release in February 2026.
Tim Burton also had a banner year with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in 2024. The long-awaited sequel to his 1988 supernatural comedy earned $452million globally, proving his continued draw at the box office nearly four decades after the original.
The two stars teaming up on Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman could well be another huge windfall for the studio.
The news of Robbie and LuckyChap’s involvement was first reported by The Insneider, while Warner Bros has declined to make any comment so far.
