Lynks shares new single ‘CPR’ and announces debut album

Lynks has been turning heads for years now with their exuberant and enticing sound that doubles up as meaningful, explorative and hilarious. Now, they are expanding on their sound as they release new single ‘CPR’ and announce their debut album, Abomination, which is set for release on April 12th.

The new album is guaranteed to provide fans with more of what has provided Lynks with such a solid foundation but also allows the musician to go down new avenues. “I think on the EPs, I was trying so hard to get anyone to pay attention,” they said. “I was like ‘Well, every song needs to be a hilarious concept.’ Whereas [with] this album, there’s quite a few of those, but there’s also songs that aren’t necessarily funny, or they’re exploring an idea rather than being really specific.”

Along with news of the LP, Lynks has shared their newest single from it, ‘CPR,’ a track with a trap-heavy, low-humming beat that has self-obsessed so-called saviours at its centre.

“There’s this temptation to shrink yourself and make yourself seem all helpless and vulnerable with those guys, so they get to feel like some Big Strong Man protecting you. ‘CPR’ felt like the perfect metaphor for that weird dynamic.”

Lynks describes the new album as something which will strike a balance “between visceral, abject shame and giddy, hedonistic delight,” it is also set to give listeners “a dizzying tour of modern queer culture.”

To celebrate the LP, they will head out on a tour around the UK and Europe, taking their upbeat and flamboyant show to crowds across the land. Lynks has already made an excellent name for themselves as a must-see live act, so a more extensive back catalogue of tracks to draw from will only enhance this.
