Lola Young provides first health update after career hiatus
Pop star Lola Young has provided a new update on her health, promising to “gradually” return to the music industry after announcing a career hiatus earlier this year.
Earlier this year, Young announced that she would be taking a step back from music. This came in the wake of the star falling ill during her set at the American festival, All Things Must Go, on September 27th, while singing her early tune ‘Conceited’.
After collapsing onstage, a medical team rushed to her and carried her off, while fans cheered in support.
Shortly thereafter, she released a statement that revealed she was “going away for a while”.
In the online post, she confessed, “It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.”
Now, Young has released a new statement via Instagram that addresses her silence for the last few months. The statement begins, “I just want to express gratitude to everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place.”
She added, “I’ve felt so much love and support from you all and it has helped me more than you will ever know.”
Looking to the future, the star wrote, “I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams.”
After wishing fans a happy holiday season, she shared, “can’t wait to see you in 2026.”
The singer added, “Life is a journey, nothing is perfect, but today I am doing well. All my love always.”
The post comes alongside reports that she has made her first public outing since falling ill, at a party thrown by Lily Allen. Young is pictured smiling alongside Allen and Olivia Rodrigo.
