Line-up announced for Chris Martin’s FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show

As the football world gears up for the start of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA in partnership with Global Citizen, have unveiled the line-up for the final’s halftime show, which has been curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin

Martin’s long-time role as the curator for Global Citizen Festival, which held its inaugural event back in 2012, has led him to organise the Club World Cup final halftime show for FIFA, which is set to take place on July 13 in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. Today, the line-up for this extravagant showing has been announced.

FIFA and Global Citizen shared that the show will feature Colombian vocalist J Balvin, American rapper Doja Cat, and Nigerian songwriter Tems. Tems, who recently joined the owner’s board of San Diego FC, shared in a statement, “We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment — to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”

J Balvin said that the opportunity to perform in the first-ever Club World Cup final halftime show was a historic moment, “For me, for Latin culture, and for every kid who dreams big.”

The performance, along with the competition as a whole, is set to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, aiming to provide children around the world with access to education and football. In fact, FIFA have announced that one dollar from every match ticket sold for this summer’s competition will be donated to the charity, too.

Due to commence on July 15, with the inaugural match seeing Egyptian team Al Ahly take on Inter Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida, the 2025 Club World Cup is the first to be played under a revised format. 32 teams will compete over the course of 63 games, in 11 cities across the United States, a rapid expansion from the previous competition, which saw seven teams compete for the title in Saudi Arabia.

At current, it is not known which two teams will perform in the Club World Cup final on July 13; Manchester City are the current defending champions, but Real Madrid have historically been the most successful in the Club World Cup. Regardless of the football, though, Chris Martin’s halftime show will be broadcast across the globe for free via DAZN.
