Liam Gallagher shares hopeful World Cup prediction: “Make it happen”

Liam Gallagher has waded into the World Cup discussion after England’s triumph over Norway sees them shoot into the semi-final of the tournament.

On July 11th, the England football team played a nail-biting match at Miami Stadium, eventually taking home the win after Jude Bellingham scored two goals to Norway’s one.

After the match had concluded with a victory for the men in white, Oasis star Gallagher took to X to share his celebration.

“We’re winning this WC,” he declared online, before adding, “I don’t know how don’t care respect to all those players manager you gotta make it happen LG.”

Across the tournament, the famous Oasis track ‘Wonderwall’ has become the unofficial World Cup anthem, a fact he nodded to in a follow-up post which read, “Cmon England, cmon Wonderwall.”

Gallagher’s comment follows a previous confession that he is “ready” to sing the World Cup live on the football pitch should England get through to the final, which will be held on July 19th at the New York New Jersey Stadium.

Liam’s brother and Oasis collaborator, Noel, has also waded into the football world after footballer Bellingham was captured singing ‘Wonderwall’: “I’m staggered that Jude Bellingham knows the lyrics, but it’s one of those songs,” he shared, in reference to footage of the Real Madrid star belting out the song in Texas.

Noel, too, has been previously optimistic about England’s chances to reach the all-important final, sharing, “If England get to the final… my two lads, they’re England fans, my two lads, they’ll be there, and I was like, ‘It will be just your luck, you jammy little sods. City winning four in a throw and a Champions League and you see England win a World Cup final in New York while they are singing your dad’s song. Like their life isn’t good enough already.”
