Liam Gallagher to voice Manchester’s tram network for Oasis shows at Heaton Park

Liam Gallagher has become the voice of one stop on Manchester’s tram network to coincide with Oasis‘ four huge shows at Heaton Park in the city.

Oasis’ triumphant reunion tour, which got off to a flying start with two concerts at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff last weekend, is now set to roll into Manchester for four huge shows at Heaton Park over the next ten days.

320,000 fans will witness the Gallagher brothers perform in Manchester across the four nights when they will play the outdoor venue on July 11th, July 12th, July 16th, and July 19th. They previously played three dates at Heaton Park in 2009.

Fans will be flocking from around the world to attend the shows, and those who make use of the city’s tram network will be in for a treat upon arriving at the Heaton Park stop which Liam is voicing for the next ten days.

Gallagher has recorded four different audio messages for those using the network, which they will be greeted with at Heaton Park. According to the Manchester Evening News, Liam says, “The next stop is…. Heaton Parrrk,” before pausing and adding, “Off you go”.

This isn’t Liam’s first rodeo as the voice of the city’s tram network. In 2023, he briefly became the announcer when Manchester welcomed the music industry to the city for the Beyond the Music conference and festival.

Mayor Andy Burnham said of Gallagher’s involvement and the Oasis reunion: “We’ve not got long to wait now until our city-region hosts the most eagerly awaited homecoming of all time and the excitement is already building here in Greater Manchester.”

Burnham continued: “It’s brilliant that Liam is lending his legendary vocals to the Bee Network once again and I’d urge everyone to listen out for them when getting off the tram at Heaton Park for the gigs.”

Doors open for the Heaton Park shows at 15:00 with music set to begin at 18:00 when Britpop four-piece Cast take to the stage. An hour later, The Verve’s Richard Ashcroft will perform at 19:00, and Oasis will then headline the concert at 20:15 with the curfew set for 22:30.
