Liam Gallagher buries the hatchet with Alex Turner

Liam Gallagher has had a quibble with most people, let’s be honest. But recently he has also started to throw an apology around as quickly as his usual barbs. It seems Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner was on the end of the former recently in Budapest as the two were spotted having a beer.

Having previously had a bit of beef over LG calling out Turner’s infamous Americanised twang, it appears the two have now buried the hatchet having got together as the two played Sziget Festival in Hungary.

It was a conversation which then went on to a hotel as the duo continued to be engrossed in one another. With insiders reporting of Liam’s “mellowing” perhaps there are more olive branches yet to come.

“Particularly since reuniting with his daughter Molly [Moorish]. He’s realised that sometimes he is too quick to speak before thinking things through,” the source said.

The duo appeared to let things slide and spent hours “drinking and talking about music” at a local hotel close to the festival. “Liam is definitely a changed-for-the-better man”, the source explained.

“Alex didn’t seem to be holding any grudge, they got on like a house on fire.”

Liam laid into the 32-year-old Turner during an interview with Radio 1’s Greg James last year, making fun of the Arctic Monkeys frontman for his noticeable change of style and accent when the band started to break through in America.

He quipped: ‘It’s when they do an interview and that later on down the line and they’ve been to America once and they come back.

“They start speaking American. You know what I mean? They’re the ones. Like the geezer from the Arctic Monkeys [Alex Turner]. He did it, didn’t he? He started getting his hair in a quiff and biker leather jackets on. You know what I mean?”

Liam continued: “It’s like, when he goes back to his mum’s, does he really walk in with that biker leather jacket and go [American accent] “hey mum, can I have some tea?”
