Alex Turner wants Arctic Monkeys collaboration with Tame Impala

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has confirmed his desire to collaborate with Tame Impala and Kevin Parker.

Kevin Parker was recently quoted admitting that is ‘open to the idea’ of collaborating with Turner and now, it would seem, the feeling is very much mutual. Sitting down with Beats 1’s Matt Wilkinson, Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner admitted: “I’d love to float with Kevin… Let’s float Kev.”

“Is that an ask for Kev?”, Wilkinson asked for confirmation to which Turner replied, “Yeah I just said it twice — I’d float with Kevin.” Pressing further, the radio host asked what a potential collaboration would sound like, Turner answered: “Hopefully Kevin would be floating in there somewhere.”

“I think he’s brilliant, no doubt about that,” he added.

Speculation between a potential collaboration between Turner and Parker has been rife in recent years and, when asked about it, Tame Impala man Parker echoed Turner’s words and remained open to the idea: “Absolutely, yeah, I mean I’m always keen for trying new things and I haven’t really worked with someone like Alex,” he replied.

When talking about the Monkeys’ new album he added: “I don’t get much time to listen to a lot of new music these days but from what I’ve heard it’s awesome and I’m proud of Cam [Cameron Avery] for getting involved there.”
